Contest Theme: “The Family”

A photo call for entry that focuses on the true meaning of family. In any language the meaning of family is universal. A family can be comprised of a mother, father and children or any relative. A family can also be a group of friends that unite for a important reason. Families can be of any size, large or small, and can include even our pets. Submit up to four images of your own personal interpretation of what family signifies.

First Place: $500 (USD) cash prize
Second Place: $250 (USD) cash prize
Third Place: $125 (USD) cash prize

Three (3) honorable mentions will also be chosen. All winning images will be displayed on the TBM website.

The Fujifilm Distinctions Awards 2009 has an open brief. So whether your image is from a personal project or from a commission, as long as it was shot on any film by Fujifilm, you can enter it into the competition. Furthermore, the awards are open to everyone, worldwide: professionals, enthusiasts, students – everyone.

How to enter

All images must be taken on Fujifilm Professional or Consumer film. Images must be scanned and submitted via this website. The Awards are open to everyone, anywhere in the world. Prizes

There are three cash prizes. The overall winner will receive £1,000. The second placed photographer will receive £500 and third place will receive £250.

A shortlist of Merit winners will be chosen at the start of September 2009 by our judging panel of photographic industry experts. Each Merit winner will be invited to submit a print for final judging. Entries can be submitted from 1 April 2009 and the closing date is 1 September 2009.

We are pleased to announce the judges for this year’s competition are Camilla Brown from The Photographers’ Gallery, Aidan Sullivan from Getty Images, Photographer – Simon Roberts, and Jerry Deeney from Fujifilm Professional.

Exhibition
