The Doodle 4 Google Competition is designed to encourage eligible U.S. school students to use their creativity to create their own interpretation of the Google logo.

Eligibility. The Contest is open to students enrolled in private or public elementary and secondary schools (grades K–12) as well as home schools (grades K-12) in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, excluding U.S. territories

Prizes. The National Winner will win a $15,000 college scholarship to be used at the school of his or her choice; a trip to the Google New York office on May 19, 2011 (retail value approximately $1,500); a $25,000 grant toward the establishment/improvement of a computer lab for his or her current school or After School Program (homeschools are ineligible for the $25,000 grant toward establishment/improvement of a computer lab); a laptop computer (retail value approximately $1,000); a Wacom digital design tablet (retail value approximately $60); and a T-shirt with his or her Google Doodle printed on it (retail value approximately $15).

Intellectual Property. By registering for the Contest and/or submitting an entry you agree explicitly that all components of your artwork and supporting statement are indeed original creations. Any intellectual property infringement, misuse or plagarism of another’s work in any form or state will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of eligibility to receive all awards, recognition and prizes. You also agree to allow Google to make public statements regarding any disqualifications and any grounds for disqualification. All intellectual property and industrial property rights in any entries that belonged to the Entrants will remain with the Entrants, but the submissions will otherwise become the property of Google, and will not be returned after the Contest. You grant Google permission to use, copy, modify, distribute, and publicly display your Contest submission for any purpose, including display on the Google website, without any attribution or compensation to you.

Contest Period. The Contest begins on January 19, 2011 at 6:00:00 A.M. Pacific Time (PT). The Contest ends on May 19, 2011 at 11:59:59 P.M. Pacific Time (PT).

Canon U.S.A., Inc., started its fourth annual Canon Photography In The Parks Photo Contest*. The contest invites photographers, from May 15th to September 30th, 2009, to enter by submitting their “Inspirational Nature Images,” the theme for this year’s contest.

Photos taken at any park or monument in America can be entered through the Canon Digital Learning Center Web site at: www.usa.canon.com/parks.

This year Canon will have two contest divisions for photographers between the ages of 13 and 17, and a separate division for adults ages 18 and older.

CONTESTANT ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is sponsored by Canon U.S.A., Inc. (Canon USA) (the Sponsor). The Contest is open to any legal U.S. resident that falls into one of two age categories, 13 – 17 years of age (Teen) or 18 years of age or older (Adult), as of May 15, 2009, and who is not a professional photographer.

Two Grand Prize Winners (1 Adult, 1 Teen) for top Entry in each age group.
